Dunster, England. Positioned on a steep, 200-foot hill, Dunster has been fortified since the late Anglo-Saxon period. Turned into a motte and bailey castle soon after the Norman Conquest, the castle survived a siege during the early years of "The Anarchy". I'll post more in the comments.

Castelnau-Bretenoux, France. Construction of this "powerful" concentric castle started in 1100. It was was fought over during the Hundred Years' War, as the castle was placed at the frontier between the territories controlled by the Kings of England and France. I'll post more in the comments.
