  • Almost looks like a river inlet in the middle of the picture. It could very well be Yellow 1 or Green 2 in this picture https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/ae/Landing_bougainville.jpg which could describe the lack of surf since that part of the beach was protected from a couple of islands.
  • D Day is a term used to signify the start of an invasion or large military operation. There were many D-Days during WW2.
